Personal Information Needed to Cash Check

My day care suddenly requires a Drivers License number so that they can electronically cash my check. Are there any laws preventing a person receiving my check from taking other personal information from me?

This may depend on requirements of the system the daycare uses, their depository bank, and state laws on privacy. There aren't any federal laws prohibiting this. You should complain if you don't like it and ask why they need it, accept their rules, or seek an alternate form of payment to them.
