About a Returned Check

How does a returned check work? Will it be mailed back to me or to the person to whom I made payment?

Untitled

If the check in question is one that you wrote, it will be returned to the payee who deposited it. Assuming that the check was not paid because of insufficient funds in your account, the payee will probably attempt to deposit it a second time, or the payee's bank will do so on its customer's behalf. If it is returned a second time unpaid, you can expect that the payee will contact you for payment.
