I have been a customer of one TV company for a long time and then one month ago, they cashed my check that I paid in advance and went out of business. The money was not returned and there is nobody in the company to contact regarding it. What actions can I take? Would a bank be able to return my money?
The bank doesn't owe you money. The business that took your prepayment and failed to provide you with the service does. You should look for that business, even sending them a certified letter. The mail may be forwarded or still picked up. You may also call your local Better Business Bureau and state Attorney General.
