"Endorsement Not As Drawn" is a stated reason as to why a check was not paid by the bank. As an example, lets say a person was paying their bills all at once and mailed the check for the water bill to the telephone company. The telephone company looked at the billing stub with the check and applied the payment amount without looking at who the actual payee was. The bank could return this check because the endorsement stamp the telephone company applied doesn't match the stated payee, the water company.
