I purchased a cashier's check seven years ago from a bank that has since gone out of business. The receipt is still good, but how can I find proof to show whether or not the check was ever cashed?
It's possible that a successor bank still has the paid cashier's check records from the old bank. You can find out what happened to the old bank using the "Bank Find" feature at the FDIC's web site. Then, you can contact the new bank and ask whether it has any of the old bank's cashier's check records.
