I sold an item on eBay. The payment was made through Paypal, but it was noticed as an unauthorized payment. It was a long case, but I won. Now its come back that the owner of the card that was used has asked her credit card company for a chargeback. This has been taken again from my PayPal account. Why should I be involved in this? Surely the credit card company should pay back the money not me. Who is in the right?
Consumers have the right to contest credit card charges for any number of reasons. They may be claiming that they are not satisfied that the product or service provided was as agreed upon.
You will have to work to prove that what was promised, was delivered. We can't say what position PayPal can take on your behalf. It is worth asking them. If you have defended the sale once, you may be able to do it again. The rules for the credit card company though may differ from those you met on PayPal and with eBay.
