Account Management Fee: Legal?

Due to a change in the way the credit card company applied my variable interest rate, I opted out and they closed my account. They began to charge me an account management fee that makes my payment about what it would have been if I had not opted out. Is this legal?

The terms of your agreement will specify what fees are allowed. If you no longer have a copy of your agreement, request one from the company. If you disagree with the practice, ask them.
