Three years ago, I wrote a convenience check for $750 on a Chase MC and it was mistakenly charged twice on my account causing it to go over limit and be rejected. I wrote them, and sent copies of all transactions. They admitted the mistake, returning the fees incurred, and one $750 credit, but insist that BOA was paid even though I have had several three-way conversations with Chase and BOA, with BOA stating they had not been paid, but returned the check. Therefore, I am owed $750 that Chase refuses to acknowledge. Writing does no good. Everytime I bring it up on the phone, Chase never gets back to me. What can I do now?
At this point you need to either hire an attorney, or contact the banking regulator for Chase. Each regulator has its own ombudsman to help on these complaints.
Start with the FFIEC. They will help you find who oversees Chase. This is the less expensive road.
