I disputed a charge on my credit card. They told me I didn't have to pay it back, but what about interest and insurance charges?
When you contest a charge, under the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z, it will be as though the charge had never been made. All interest that was owed as a result of the charge that was reversed, plus any fees such as for credit insurance, will be reversed. Also, your credit report will not be negatively affected by the dispute.
