Depositing Funds in Account with Credit Card

A person from another state is purchasing something from me and would like to use a credit card. Can he deposit a credit card payment into my account? If so, would I have access to it immediately? If that is not possible, could he directly deposit the funds into my account? Is so, how long before those funds would become available?

In most cases, the buyer would need to obtain a cash advance on the credit card and provide you with those funds. You would have access to this cash immediately.

It's not possible to direct the credit card lender to pay money to someone else's account except through a cash advance check. If you deposit a cash advance check, ask your bank how long it will be until you have access to the funds, and how long they estimate it would take for the check to actually clear. These will be different time frames. It could happen that your bank would give you access to the money in a week, but then two weeks later the check could be returned because there wasn't enough credit available to pay it. Your bank would then want the deposit reversed, meaning you give them back the money, and you may be charged a fee for this.
