I tried to open a checking account today at a bank. They wouldn't allow me to do this because of a company named ChexSystem. I've only ever had two bank accounts, one checking and one savings, and I've never had any loans/credit cards. I owe neither bank money. Why would this company have me on their list?

If you are denied a product or service because of a ChexSystems report, that company is required to give you the contact information so you can see what ChexSystems is reporting on you. It is possible that the report lists you in error. You should call and ask, to verify their report is accurate.
