Charging an Inactive Account Months Later

If an account is inactive/suspended and a charge is placed and denied by the merchant, can the bank still charge my account months after?

If the question is, can the bank charge you because the account status shows inactivity, generally yes. Many banks define activity as a debit, not an attempted debit from the account. The computer looks to see the last date on which money actually left the account and compares that to the current date, to determine if the prescribed time has passed that qualifies as "inactive." This definition can differ from bank to bank and state to state. It is generally based on state laws.
