Bank Lost Loan Payment: What should I do?

I made a payment on my loan. but the bank lost the check. I have a dated and signed credit copy from the bank. Is it my fault the bank lost my check? What should I do?

You could place a stop payment order on the check you wrote in case it is found and processed. Then you should re-issue the loan payment so you don't show as past due.

From the bank's perspective, it can happen that they'd lose and item, but it is certainly not a common problem. If they admit they lost it, ask them to pay the stop payment fee. If they don't admit any fault, you are likely stuck as it is a case of your word against theirs.
