Getting Info on Account of the Deceased

My mother recently passed. How do I find out about her bank account? I know she had more than one. The executor of the estate is not showing us anything.

The executor of your mother's estate is responsible for taking over all of your mother's accounts, moving the funds into the estate and then distributing the estate in accordance with the Will and state law. He or she must account to the probate court for his/her actions. At some point in the process, the executor will meet with family members to go over the accounts and how the estate will be settled, but it will take some time before the executor will be able to reach that point in the process.

You should contact the executor to ask whether an interim or preliminary meeting with family members would be possible. That is often done if a delay in distribution could be a hardship for a beneficiary of the estate. Finally, if you believe that the executor is not acting expeditiously and fairly to complete the settlement of the estate, you should contact the court that is overseeing the probate process.
