Executor Squanders Funds on Herself, Not Bills

I had a girl friend whose brother died a couple months ago and she was made trustee and executor of his estate. She opened a checking account to deposit his money to pay the bills he left behind. They didn't get paid and she has gone through all his money without paying his bills at all. She used the money to pay her rent, get her hair done, buy herself new clothes, and pretty much whatever she needed at the time. Now the account is overdrawn. Should someone call the police on her for this, or can she get away with something like this?

Assuming your friend was actually appointed by the probate court as executor of her brother's estate, she will have a day on which she will have to account to the court for her handling of the estate. If there are unpaid claims and she cannot account for the funds you say she has squandered, the court will deal with her, and she will be held accountable.
