How do I properly endorse a check if it is made out to someone who is deceased and the other party is still alive?


If a check is payable to John Jones and Sam Smith, and Sam Smith has died, in order to be properly cashed or deposited, it would have to be endorsed by John Jones and by the Estate of Sam Smith, by the administrator or executor of the estate.
