Missing Bank Information of the Deceased

My mom passed away and we are unable to locate a Will that I am sure that she had. We found two keys for a deposit box but, no bank information. Is there a way to find out what bank to contact?

You can contact the local banks in your mom's area and tell them what has happened, and that you have a death certificate. They will often let you know if there was a safe deposit box to which you can gain entry, with proof of authority.

Many safe deposit box keys have numbers stamped into them. This can help identify the bank if you have that.

Most people will have various products at one institution. Call the bank where she had her deposit accounts first, the closest next, working outward, and look for proof of payment in her bank statements.
