Cashing Check to Late Husband

I received a settlement check for $13,000 made out to myself and the estate of my late husband. Can I cash it? I do not have a bank account.

If the check is payable to you and your husband's estate, rather than to you or your husband's estate, the endorsement of the estate made by its executor or administrator, will be required, along with yours, before the check can be negotiated. Take a look at the collection of articles linked on our Deceased Individuals page.
