Cashing Check of Deceased

I live in my deceased mother's house. An escrow surplus check was sent to the house in my mothers name. Is there a way to cash it?

The executor or administrator of your mother's estate can negotiate the check, if his/her appointment has been confirmed by the probate court and remains valid.
