Executor of Trust for Deceased

I am the executor of a trust for my deceased father. He had a bank account with approximately $2,000.00 in it. I have the checks for the account. Is it ok for me to write a check on that account signing my name as the executor of the trust?

Before you write a check on the account, you should go to the bank with your Letters Testamentary or court appointment as executor and arrange to have the account moved into the estate's or trust's name. If you don't do that first, the bank will likely bounce the check if you sign it as you have suggested.
