My sister and I are co-executors of our father's Will. She wants us to have the estatechecking account opened with required dual signatures. Is there any protection for me to have the account set up differently?

Most banks will not be bound by dual signature requirements. You will need to call your bank and ask. While most will allow you to require dual signatures, that is for your internal controls. The bank will typically agree that if any of the signatures on the check are authorized, the check is valid, so if you require three signatures, as long as there is one, the check may be paid. The advantage to having dual signatures in this case is that it shows an awareness, understanding and agreement between you and your sister, but your bank most likely won't want to be a part of that agreement, as it is between the two of you.
