Can Beneficiary See Bank Records?

My mother passed away last year. Her sister was named executrix; I am the sole beneficiary. When I asked to see bank records, I was told POD and then got hostile silence. I know my aunt had power of attorney while my mother was living, but there was never any mention of a POD to my aunt. Bluntly, do I have the right to see those bank records? My mother was in very bad health and under heavy medication for several years before passing.

The executrix who is administering the account has the records and the ability to present them. As a beneficiary on the account you have no ownership rights nor the capacity to demand that the bank show you the records of the account. They don't have the option to do this and they shouldn't show you the records. You need to coordinate with the administrator of the account and if you feel they are abusing their position, consult an attorney.
