Accessing a Foreign Account

My husband is Greek, he has four active savings accounts in Greece. Due to unemployment, we find we are in need of money. Is it possible to access his accounts in Greece and transfer money to our account here?

Your husband should speak with a representative of your U.S. bank and get specific wire transfer instructions that will facilitate getting the funds to your account. Then, he should contact his bank or banks in Greece and arrange to have the funds transferred. Presumably, the Greek banks will have methods to verify your husband's identity and methods for him to use to authorize the transfers. He can then arrange with your local bank to contact him or you when the funds arrive.
