I need to pay someone in Canada with a check and he wants the payment in Canadian dollars. I only have a US bank account. How do I go about paying them in Canadian dollars?
You can't draw a check on your U.S. account in Canadian dollars. However, you can ask your bank whether it is able to obtain a Canadian dollar bank draft for you, using its correspondent bank relationships. If you are near a city where there's a U.S. branch of a Canadian bank, contact that branch to find out if it will sell you a Canadian dollar bank check or money order.
