I am the executor of a very large estate. I need to set up a bank account to handle the funds coming in and out of the estate. I am concerned about the guarantee of only $100,000. Is there any type of account that handles over a million in cash?

Keep the money in big banks, the government will bail them out in case of need. Btw the guarantee is for $250K

The insured amount is $250,000 from the FDIC. You can spread the deposits to more than one bank to remain insured if that is your goal. I've also seen customers have their CPA analyze the banks financial condition for peace of mind. If the funds can be put into CDs, ask your lead bank about the CDARS program where they place the money in other insured banks for you.
