Moving and packing I found an old undeposited check from an IRA rollover sent to me in 1996 for $1,200.47. The bank who issued the check only would tell me that the "government" has the funds.

I can find nothing / nobody who knows what to do. Anybody know how I can convert this thing to cash?

I probably paid a penalty for not rolling this over, but do not remember.

Thanks.

You cannot convert that check. I assume the bank told you the funds had been escheated to the state where you were residing at the time as unclaimed property. The state has your money; contact the Georgia Dept. of Revenue.
