My husband and I have joint savings since 1998, however, he has since moved all mail statements to his work employer physical mail. I want to view our statements, the bank says NO! im not allowed, even though it is "our" joint account...
any advise is helpful,
Thank You.

The bank probably wants to avoid having each party making mailing address changes every other month. Many banks offer E-Statements or internet banking as an alternative for viewing your transaction history. I'd recommend either enrolling in one of these products or having a family discussion with your spouse about the family finances.

The bank (credit union) said no, I am not allowed to view OUR statements period since i dont know the passwprd ect.. Not even if I go directly to the bank in phical person. ALL i want is our statements. I can pay for the paper fee. I cant enroll cause he has had the statements forward to his office mail. HOwever, the nice lady bank rep said I can withdraw all funds and make deposits since we r joint but I cant VIEW our statements? confused....

You should be able to get your own e-statement logon. That is actually better for the CU because they will know who logged on and looked or sent in a question.

Why don't you ask for paper copies and pay the fee? Or get them from your husband?

I think the problem here goes deeper than wanting to see the statements. If I was the CU, I wouldn't want to be involved in that side of the problem either.

If you are on the account, you have rights to that info. Ask them who their primary regulator is and how to complaint to them.
