Are Financial Planners covered under the banking privacy regulations? For Example - are they prohibited from disclosing, to family members, how and what trusts have been established for clients; To what charities clients contribute, etc...

Absolutely. Only the trust administrators are allowed to know this type of information as is specified in trust documentation. Beneficiaries do not even have the ability to know if they're beneficiaries of a trust. (But it's always a nice suprise later in life)

Dawn is absolutely correct. Financial advisers engage in activity that is "financial in nature or incidental to such activities."

The privacy rules apply to other advisers, too, such as attorneys, insurance agents, etc.
