Another great reason to use a bank FLOODING! That tin can full of moldy destroyed bucks (if it stayed put) is now worth nothing.

Anon does hit on something of value (but not so well) Sure some banks lend out your money at a high risk. But...most do not. You can check on the stregnth of a bank through many sources. Bank with a strong bank, and the issue of high risk loans won't be an issue you have to worry about. You'll also be comfortable when your neighbors dog comes by and digs up the lawn

By the way, my brother in law purchased an old farm several years ago. The guy who burried his money died and the family didn't know where it was.

My brother in law was happy when many years, after digging up the lawn to expand the home, he found enough money in steal boxes to cover the new addition, and a little vacation.
