Hello everyone!
I'm new to that forum and looking for some help of other experienced users.

I live in Poland and am looking for US (or any other country) internet bank account with no monthly fee and free (or very cheap) online transfers to use it with PayPal. Somehow PayPal does not support Poland and any banks located in here so I need an account somewhere else. Funny thing was that when I asked them what is the problem the couldn't say anything.
Anyway, all I could find were some US banks like VirtualBank or CaroLine Bank but I had to provide my social security number so basically they're available for US residents only. I'm sure that there is something good for me out there but I couldn't find anything so far. Important thing is that cannot visit the bank by myself because I live on the other side of the world so online registration is required (of course I'll mail or fax them scan of my passpord or id card, whatever is needed for registration).

I'd be glad if anyone could give me an advise. I read all forum rules and there was nothing about giving links to banks websites but if advertising is a problem please send me a private message so I could contact you.

Thank you in advance!
Piotr

Piotr, you are going to have a problem opening an account in the U.S. because of our Customer Identification Program requirements. Since you live in a country that is part of the European Union (EU), I would suggest you open an account with an EU-based bank in a country supported by PayPal, such as Germany or Switzerland.

Good Luck.

Don't know where you live in Poland, but ABN Amro and Bank of America have branches in Warszawa, since they have offices in the US perhaps they could help.

Thank you for all your replies. In that case I think I have no choice but to look for EU-based bank.

Poland have been part of the EU for almost a year, our banking system is stable and I have no idea why they do not want to provide their services in here. PayPal provides their online services even to such exotic countries like Anguilla, Dominican Republic or Ecuador with no internet connection which is even more astonishing.

Talking about local branches of foreign banks. The same thing as with Bank of America is with Citibank. They even have branches in the place I live but still, it will be Polish account. and bank's world headquarters are not important for PayPal. I'd be glad if anyone from EU-based country could help me.

Possibly this reply is really late but Paypal won't let you withdraw funds to a, for exaple, Swiss bank account if you're not in Swizerland. You can always withdraw funds to a USA bank account but you can only withdraw funds to other countries' BA if you are in that country.
I wouldn't lie in your location when you signup (that's a common temptation) since their fraud monitoring system will identify your location by IP address and your account be closed in a very short time...
