Are ulities bill suppose to appear on your credit report?
It is my understanding that a credit bureau has 30 days to verifty information or the disputed information must be deleted from your credit report. I recently disputed an account that appeared on my credit report and TransUnion took two months to verify, accounting to the FCRA the account must be deleted. Is this corrected?

Utilities can report to credit bureaus. This is based on two theories:
First, if you use the gas/electric and then pay, you are in debt to them; and
Second, it helps low- and moderate-income individuals, who may not have loans, build a credit history.

There are times when the credit bureau can take longer than 30 days to verify disputed information. Read section 611 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If they delete the account and later it is determined that you do owe the money, the account can be put back on the credit report. You can find a copy of the FCRA on the Federal Trade Commission's website.
