Ive been battling my bank with excess of 300. mo. in NSF. going with the before 2:00, after 2:00 is next business day activity, when I print my account via internet at 3:00, it shows no negative activity. It always happens the day of Payday when they know I will deposit. I also receive SS on 3rd and they really hit me. the next day, payday, all of a sudden 5-10 checks are posted showing received the day before, thus 20.00 a pop. I believe they actually came in the day of in which the deposit will go in first, and there will be no nsf. The one and only woman that specifically handles my account and I do not relate well. I think she deliberatly does this to me. the most recent is my solution to these nsf's was to draw out all my money and work on a cash basis, leaving only enough to cover my rent check and 9.00 ins fee on my account. when the realization of no reason to collect nsf in my account, a debit of 39.95 nsf was made to my account again, the day before payday(wasn't there @ 3:00) from an outside collection dept for a check that ran once ,failed ,ran again and cashed. the debit was for the first run that didnt make it. this debit threw it in the negative. i went face to face w/ my bank lady. she has now made my account look like it never happened. all the negative transaction dissappeared rather than shown as a re-deposit to account. how can i prove this. is there some record somewhere I have legal right and can ask to see that can't be tampered with as far as when the bank received my checks before it was made a transaction to my account?

It looks as if the dates and times are what may be confusing things for you. We need to back up and understand when things are really being processed.
In most banks, I can look at the balance of my account at 3:00, 4:00 5:00 and it will show one balance, the checks that are posted to my account have yesterday's date. TONIGHT the bank will process and post all of the checks that came in today and tomorrow morning it might "appear" that I was NSF today because of items that will post tonight.
OK, let's stop and think about that a minute, the bank processes the checks at night, after the bank closes, and post the checks (and the resulting NSF fees) with today's date ------ because these are the checks that came in today.
Most banks do not have "real time" posting. Some banks do post throughout the business day and you may see fluctuations in your balance during the day, but even then, you would need to know what time they get their checks from other banks ---- this might be after the bank closes and these checks will also be posted tonight.
I think if you give this some thought, you will see where the majority of your frustration is coming from.
Good luck.

Items that came in before the 2:00 cutoff time will not show up on the internet at 3:00pm the same day. They will process with the work from that day and show online the next business day. Example: Monday 1:00 pm - check presented for payment at your bank 2:00pm - cutoff time for work Monday night, all checks and deposits are processed Tuesday morning - checks and deposits from Monday before 2:00pm should show on internet banking statement. The bank has no control over when an NSF check is re-run. The party to whom the check was payable chooses when to re-run the check.
In order to avoid the NSF charges, you need to keep a careful record of your deposits and checks written with the resulting balance remaining in your account. Don't write checks for which you do not have money in the account the day you write them. (Example: Don't write checks the day before payday if the money won't be there to cover them until "Payday") Compare your checking account record (check register) to the monthly statement your bank sends you. You should be able to make your records and the bank statement balance match, after allowing for checks that you have written that haven't come through your account as of the statement date. If you need help in doing this, your account services department should be able to help you and explain the process, but may charge for the service - ask about the charge for the service before they do the work.
Your other option is to find a new bank with more helpful customer service representatives.

I do not know if this will help, but it sounds like you may misunderstand what they mean by before and after 2pm.
An item received before 2pm on Monday will be posted to your account, generally, at midnight Monday night. Therefore, any checks that came in Monday morning would not show on your internet history at 3pm. They would, instead, show-up Tuesday morning.
This means, as an example, that you could be hit with an NSF if the check came in Monday at 1pm, but your deposit arrived at 3pm (after 2pm).
As for the tampering by your bank lady - smile and say thank you. She was under no requirement to make your account look like nothing happened and, if you think about it, did you good, not bad. You can subpoena records that will show her corrections, but it would likely be a waste of your time that I do not recommend.
One item to check: Ask your bank lady if the bank adds your deposits before they subtract your checks each day. I do not know any banks that do not, but it is another possible explanation for your problem.
