"c/o" is part of the mailing address; you are not the payee of the check and cannot provide a legitimate endorsement.
If, according to the terms of the sale, the check belongs to you rather the new owner, ask the drawer to reissue the check in your name. Assuming the name of the firm is unchanged, you might also try the simpler route, delivering the check to the firm, asking them to deposit it and issue a check to you for the amount due.
