Ok, so I'm curious because I'm going back to school.

Do Stafford Loans appear on your credit report? Not forbearance or anything...

I checked with our Student Loan Officer and he says "Yes". It is reported by the FI that makes the loan, and is reported as "deferred" until you begin making payments. At that time, it is reported like any other loan. Defaults and late payments are also reported once the repayment period begins.

Thanks. Here's my problem:

I'm having some issues with my credit because of some medical bills that have gone to collection but that I'm disputing. AND my credit score stinks up to high heavens because of a soon to be ex-husband. ::rolling my eyes::

I've been monitoring my score and doing what I can by paying off some outstanding credit cards but just recently it took a hit...the same time that I got the financial aid.

So, I'm thinking that this could be the reason? (I haven't gotten a copy of it yet)

Kinda bites. I mean, I know that once I finish school I will be on the right path and I know that I'm doing what I can to make my score better. Just, well, bites!
