What do I need to do to get banks to finance my customers for their construction work that I am doing?
Call on the banks. There are several issues that could involve what work is being done. Are you required to be licensed, do you have that license, etc. To do the construction work there may be some state requirements you must meet. The bank may need verification of this.
The other side of the equation is credit. What does the bank want to know about your customer to approve them, will you be jointly liable with them for all or a part of the time, or will there be a specific construction loan, then a pay-out loan, and who will be on each, etc.
The bank may simply ask that you refer your customers to them and they'll be evaluated on a case by case basis. Here again, some of the terms depend on whether you are looking for construction financing or if it is all on the customer.
The bottom line is that you'll need to know in advance what type of work you'll be doing and what the bank wants to know about the customer, or if they simply want a referral from you. The latter keeps personal information personal and keeps you from telling your customer that they can't get a loan.
