I Want to Stop My Home Equity Loan

My husband took out a home equity loan against our house. What are my rights as an owner of the house? Do they need my signature or authorization or anything before doing this? This will put a lien against our home and if the loan defaults, the bank could take our home.

You should discuss this problem with your husband, because of questions arising from how he could have obtained a home equity loan without your involvement if you are one of the owners of the property. This discussion with your husband will sort things out, but, if discussing the loan with him is not an option, you should contact an attorney, who can review the situation and recommend options to you.
