Bank Takes Money for House Payment

Can my bank withdraw money to pay my house payment without my permission?

If your home mortgage is past due, it's likely that the bank has a contractual or a legal right to charge your deposit account(s) for the amount owed. In many states, a legal right of offset gives a creditor (the bank) the right to take money it's owed from the debtor (you) to satisfy past due obligations. The bank would not have that right if your deposit account were in a different bank.
