I had a mobile home that caught fire and was a total loss. The insurance company sent me a check with my name and the mortgage company's name as payees. I sent them the check to be endorsed, but I still haven't gotten it. It has been a year. How long does this take?
It doesn't take that long. You didn't say, but it is possible the check was applied against your debt. Usually the homeowner will work with the lender to rebuild/replace out of the funds.
Have you been making payments, and do you still owe them money, or do they owe you? You need to call the lender to ensure they received the check, and ask what they did with it. You also need to know if you're interested in getting any excess funds or in replacing the home.
