Getting Around Mortgage Ineligibility

I have poor credit and a great income. My boyfriend has a clean credit history, but low income. Can we purchase a house using his credit history and my income? Is there any way to give part of my income to him so that it looks like he makes more money, since we will both be paying the mortgage?

What you are describing will be a joint application with you and your boyfriend, or you attempting mortgage fraud. On a joint loan, you each have ownership and liability for the debt.

If you tried to circumvent the system you may end up with your boyfriend owning a home and you giving him money. You'd have no legal interest in the home. In the event of a breakup, he'd have a debt he couldn't pay and you'd lose what you put into the situation. Additionally, you could have criminal charges.
