I recently closed on a property and did a walk through after making payment. I am not happy with the walk through; is there any way that I can get out of this deal?
If your state laws provide any rescission period, or if the property was misrepresented, you may have grounds for legal actions, but generally, when the ink from your signature is put to paper, the deal is done and you are the new owner, proud or not. The purpose of inspections and walk throughs is to inform the buyer and determine any "punch list" of items requiring attention. These items may be addressed before closing, or agreed to be addressed after closing, if desired. Funds may even be withheld from the sale to cover the cost of fixing these items, but the time they should all be addressed is before you close.
