I Didn't Send You the Message!

I got an email from a web-postmaster informing me that a message I had sent to an address at the same company was blocked because a virus was detected in an attachment. The body of "my" message was repeated, and I don't recognize it. Am I imagining things?

No, you aren't imagining anything. It looks like someone's computer, somewhere, had your email address filed away in an address book. A computer virus attacked that machine and generated a bunch of junk email messages, trying to spread its infection to other machines. The "from" addresses in those messages were probably "~spoofed~" and some of them looked like they were sent from your address.

Don't lose sleep over this. There is nothing you did to create the problem, and there's nothing you can do to correct it. Delete the message and move on.
