How much equity do I need to buy another property? I need a little help/direction before I can start.
There is no answer to your question. The market conditions, which are not good right now, your credit, your capacity, who the seller is (i.e. is it a distressed property the bank is already involved with), the property type and your other assets all come into play in this decision. As bankers, we'd have to answer "as much as you can get."
