What is the difference between an equal housing lender and an equal opportunity lender? I know we should look for those symbols at our bank, but what is the difference in the two?
Financial institutions may be told by their regulatory agency which of these to use, or that either may be used. They both mean the same thing. Your lender will not discriminate based on any prohibited practice.
This is an equal sign in a box with a roof, the equal housing lender logo, with the text either "Equal Housing Opportunity" or "Equal Housing Lender" under it. These logos are available on BankersOnline.com in the Banker Tools - Signage section.
