Finding a Long Lost Foreign Bank Account

I had a bank account many years ago in another country.I have no idea what the name of the bank was.I think there is a chance that the account was never fully emptied. Any idea how I could find out?

Unless you can find some record pointing to the foreign bank, it would be literally impossible to track something like this. Might you have any old records showing that you deposited money that came from your foreign account into a U.S. bank? If so, and if the transaction isn't too old, the U.S. bank may be able to track down the name of the bank the funds came from. Might you still have a relative in that foreign country that might offer some ideas about which bank the funds may have been deposited?
