Working Minor Wants Account Information

I am a minor who works as a model, and I know that I have to open a bank account for my income and that some percentage of what I earn must be put into a specific account. What are the specifics on what kind of account I need and how much is taken to be put into my account until I turn eighteen in New York state.

We can't speak to state law issues in most cases and would refer you to an lawyer in that area. If your parents or guardian are establishing a bank account for you, that is great. It provides safety and accountability. If you intend on putting a percentage of your income aside, that is great too. These aren't requirements to work, but they are good.

If you have an actual management contract with your parents/guardian that may define what portions of your income are put in what accounts, what is paid out of your earnings and what is set aside for tax liability. This is something you all need to discuss with an attorney, assuming you are not of age in NY to handle your own affairs.
