I bought a money order and made it out to a government department. It was returned untouched because it wasn't required. What should I do to cash it back?
Assuming that you bought the money order at a bank, you should not have a problem obtaining a refund if you bring it and your purchase receipt, usually a copy of the money order, back to the bank office where you obtained it. You need to prove that you purchased it. The bank will give you instructions on how to request your refund.
