Cashing a Postal Money Order

Is it safe a cash a postal money order with my name and home address on it?

If you received the money order from someone you know and trust, there should not be a problem. However, if you got it from someone that you've never done business with before or from a stranger, it would be very wise to take it to the Post Office first, and ask to have it checked for authenticity. Although the Postal Service includes several security attributes in its money orders, counterfeit and stolen money orders are favorite tools for scam artists to defraud unsuspecting people. You can also visit the Postal Service's "Damaged, Lost or Stolen Money Orders" page for more information.
