I received a money order as payment for rent, but the tenant wrote the wrong last name. Will the bank honor it if the last name is corrected by putting a line through the wrong name, listing the correct name and initialing, or should it be returned for a new one?
A new payment should be required. Doing a pen and ink change would seem to be a weak security measure.
