Can a bank just take money out of your account without giving you documentation before they do it? An income tax return check came to my account in a large sum of $8000. They called me two months later and told me that they were going to take the money. I asked them for documentation before they did that. I got no information, and they took the money, which left me in arrears.
Its hard to respond accurately to your question without knowing for what purpose the funds were supposedly removed from your account. You're entitled to an explanation. Contact your bank branch manager, explain that the funds were taken from your account with no explanation, and ask for the information. If you don't get an answer, contact the bank's customer assistance center or central administration. It is simply not acceptable that your account would be charged without providing you with an explanation.
