Can a bank legally debit an account for NSFfees that only receives disability payments from Social Security?
If the customer overdraws the account and the bank has correctly disclosed the fees and when they will be imposed, the bank is entitled to its fees. Such payments may receive some protection from legal attachments, etc., from creditors, but contractual fees are something that depositors agree to when they open accounts.
